MATLA is a marketing and advocacy business. The Matla team, positive and inspired by the emerging democracy in South Africa, is focused on promoting public sector initiatives that increase the potential for enterprise and economic growth for its

constituency. The directors of Matla are accomplished managers and policy advocates who have teamed up with associates who are leaders in conferencing, marketing, communications and exhibitions. Through this partnership Matla and Associates has created a strong value proposition and offers a full service to hosts and facilitators of conferences, show owners, exhibition and event organisers, and marketers in and involved with the public sector. Matla's services include the providing of a turnkey solution to its clients, including conceptualisation, infrastructure supply, design, communication and organizing of events, forums, exhibitions and conferences. Members of Matla were instrumental in facilitating the first energy exhibition of any real scale in Gauteng called Energex. The Energex Gauteng exhibition and trade show, hosted on behalf of the DLG, and took place at the Expo Centre, Nasrec, in June 2008. Energex attracted over a 150 exhibitors and 6000 visitors. The event profiled various technologies ranging. These included : Solar, wind, Bio Fuels and various other household energy saving products and was an all round success.

Exhibitors and visitors commented favourably : Keith Warmback from Probe Electrical commented on SABC that the show was the most successful show that he has ever exhibited at and went on to say that he sold 20 000 more times more than what he expected to sell over the three day period. Keith sells electronic battery back - up units. Ali Cotwell from Solar Energy Sales, “We will go national with this show, it has been the best of its kind”. Ali manufactures solar operated traffic lights. Rene from Once Off Marketing, manufactures and sells magnetic washballs (Nano Technology), went onto say that Energex is of an international standard and in her experience it was of world class. Danie from Executive Marketing based in JHB, manufactures upmarket LED lighting for the modern day home. “I came simply to showcase my products and landed getting orders in excess of R1 000 000 from WITS University”. Energex was a success despite being the first of its kind. This gives a good indication of the potential for an energy related exhibition and its power to promote and influence how energy is viewed and dealt with.

The MATLA team was instrumental in facilitating various exhibitors and the Government Departmants at the Joburg Easter Festival. The Joburg Easter Festival took place at the MTN Expo Centre, Nasrec, in April 2009.

Joburg Easter Festival attracted over 420 exhibitors and 162 000 visitors.
